This could be Oklahoma under a storm on high. I’ve walked through dogwood groves like this and looked up to see crowns of purple spread over the sky. I think the outdoors is grand, and I’d live out there all the time if I could. Not sure I’d ever leave the land, if it weren’t for soft beds and good food. If there were televisions in the trees, that would be better. Or if I could climb with ease, and if gravity wasn’t a fetter, then every day would be sprinkled in petals—I prefer the soft ones, not nettles.
ReplyDeleteWhat do I think? I think the album cover where Cyndi Lauper, in fishnets and barefoot, makes the Sunset Strip immortal if, like me, you came to consciousness in the 80s. Actually, I think something more complicated and less cool: some Pink Floyd, neither the sound of a song nor any particular image, gets mixed in. But the final complication offers wee hope: the cover of Sargent Peppers’ Lonely Hearts. And come to think of it, if the iconic Nirvana swimming pool had windows then this image you’ve posted could be exactly what the baby sees whenever it looks out.
