Hello . . . this is Joe. Welcome to A Daily Drabble. Please add 100 words of prose or poetry as a comment on any date you want and in any order you want. Please reply on the drabbles you like. I'll moderate the comments at night, and they'll appear the next day. This is for everyone!

This balcony scene gives me yuppie Mumbai vibes. But I don’t know: maybe I actually see some city in one of the Gulf States. I mean, duh, I don’t actually see that but that may nonetheless be what I see. I will admit, the guitar throws me a little bit off; but then again a sitar or veena would not click more. I enjoy how I can’t see the people but I don’t see their absence: the fire would not be on with no-one present. Ah, a handsome yuppie plays his guitar and charms a beautiful woman. Music—wine—wine.
ReplyDeleteThis could almost be my penthouse garden in Nakhonsawan, where I taught English for a year. Instead of renting an apartment, I lived in a suite at the top of the Lelawadee Hotel. At night, I lounged in a couch by the parapet and drank wine or beer and ordered snacks from the restaurant. My tastes often oscillated between a few favorites. When I drank cold beer, like Kingfisher, I would order hot and spicy beef salad, or Nam Tok. When I drank a rich white wine, like an albarino, or sometimes a Bandol rosé, I ordered squid, or Yam-Pra-Muek.
